Introduction to the Professional Degree of Master of Chemistry
Since being founded 60 years ago, CTGU’s Chemistry Department has lead in diverse areas from traditional inorganic, organic, analytical, physical chemistry to medicine chemistry and supramolecular chemistry. We have been permitted to recruit graduate student since 2006, and are able to recruit Chutian scholars with the funding from Hubei Province. Currently, there are 21 professors in chemistry department, including 12 Provincial experts. We have two Provincial key laboratories, focusing on development of natural products, ecological protection and biotechnology.

We produce high-achieving professionals who are proficient in modern lab procedures, who excel in leading scientific inquiry process and who have broad knowledge in the discipline’s four major areas (organic, inorganic, physical and analytical). Our graduates have excellent acceptance rates into medical, pharmacy, and academic area. We have been playing important role in developing the technology in Fine Chemicals, Biomedicine, Advanced Materials for the companies in Three Gorges area.
